Dr. Shobha Srinath, retired Head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Services, Department of Psychiatry National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. She has a DPM and a M.D in Psychiatry at Nimhans since 1982 and her area of specialisation in autism, mood disorders and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorders). Her vast experience and dedication speaks for her excellence and efficiency in dealing with issues in kids. She has been awarded with many awards like the World Health Organization fellowship for 3 months (April - June 1997) in which visits to centers in the USA and UK were made. Service award in Mental Health organized by the Karnataka Havyasi Aptha Samalochakara Vedike (R), on the occassion of the World Mental Health Day on 14th October 2012 at Bangalore. She was conferred the Rotary Bangalore West - Vocational excellence award 2005 on 17th November 2005. She is life fellow of few institutions like Indian Psychiatric Society Karnataka chapter, Indian Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

Behavior Analysts
Dr. Neil Martin, Ph.D, BCBA-D has been working as a Behaviour Analyst, (clinician, academic, supervisor and researcher) since 1990. He received his PhD from the University of Reading (UK) in 1998 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2002. He was among the first handful of BCBAs in the UK and he was one of the 'ABA Lecturer's Co-operative' that developed the first BACB- verified course sequence in the UK. Dr. Martin has worked independently for many years teaching on a number of BACB verified course sequences, helping to establish others around the world, supervising students and consulting to numerous organisations and families both in the UK and internationally. Dr. Martin has published research in journals such as the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, The Behavior Analyst, Research in Developmental Disabilities and the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, and he has special interests in the use of technology, media and software related to teaching and research. Dr. Martin was one of the international subject matter experts that last reviewed the BACB Task List and he was also one of the subject matter experts that generated the BACB Autism Task List and the BACB Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts. In April 2015 Dr. Martin became the BACB's Director of International Development to help advance the BACB's global vision.
Dr. Robert K. Ross, Ed.D, BCBA-D, LABA,
Senior VP of Treatment Efficacy & Graduate Education Dr. Ross is the Senior Vice President of Treatment Efficacy and Graduate Education at Beacon ABA Services of Massachusetts and Connecticut. He received his Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University and his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Ross oversees all research activity at Beacon. He also provides direct and consultation services to families, schools and educational programs throughout the U.S. and Canada. He is a founding member and current Past President of the Massachusetts Association for Applied Behavior Analysis. Dr. Ross is also the President of the Autism Special Interest Group (SIG) of ABAI, and has served three terms on the ABAI Council.
Dr. Janet S. Twyman, Ph.D., BCBA, NYSLBA, is the VP of Learning Science and Technologies at ABA Technologies, and serves as the Director of Innovation & Technology for the U.S. Dept. Of Education’s national center of Innovations in Learning. She also holds faculty positions as Professor of Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Mass. Medical School/ Shriver Center Dr. Twyman is a noted proponent of effective instruction and using technology to produce individual and system- wide change. A career educator, she has been a preschool and elementary school teacher , a principal and administrator, university professor, education research, and was vice President of Instructional Development at Headsprout, an award-winning learning sciences technology company. A sought-after speaker nationally and internationally, Dr. Twyman has presented and published worldwide on instructional design, improving education, effective learning systems and educational technology, including a presentation on leveraging new educational technologies for diverse setting at the United Nations in 2011. She has served on the boards of numerous organisations such as the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies (chairing the Education Group) and PEER International (assisting township schools in Port Elizabeth, South Africa). Dr. Vrajesh Udani, Child Neurologist. He is working as Consultant in Child Neurology at Hinduja, Wadia and Saifee Hospitals and Honorary Asst. Professor Pediatrics and Neurology at Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospitals. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Neurology with Special competence in Child Neurology in1989. He has completed his M.D. Pediatrics in 1981 and graduated M. B. B. S in year 1977 from University of Bombay. Dr. Lokesh Lingappa is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Neurologist at Rainbow Children's Hospital, Hyderabad. He completed his medical school from Karnatak Medical College, Hubli, Karnataka. He did his Pediatric Training from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh and trained in neurology (DM Neurology) at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru. He pursued his passion to further pediatric neurology training and completed MRCPCH from UK and was trained at Birmingham Children's Hospital, Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, UK and Bristol Children's Hospital as Fellow in Pediatric Neurology. Dr. Lingappa was awarded the Best Outgoing Neurology Student (Dr. Anisya Vasanth Award) at NIMHANS. He also received Travel Fellowship Grant Award at International Child Neurology Conference (ICNA) held at Montreal, Canada in 2006. He has many national and international publications and presentations to his credit. Dr. Gurpreet Singh Kochar, MD - Pediatrics, DM- Pediatric Neurology, consultant Pediatric Neurologist currently working in SPS Hospital Ludhiana. He completed his MBBS in the year 2000 and MD Pediatrics in 2004 from PGIMS, Rohtak (Haryana). Then, he did DM- Pediatric Neurology from AIIMS New Delhi in 2010. Since 2011, he is working in SPS Hospitals, Ludhiana. He has special interest in Autism and is associated with many special schools and Autism parents groups in Ludhiana.


Dr. Rashmi Adiga joined Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bangalore as a Consultant Pediatrician and Neurologist in 2017. Dr. Rashmi Adiga has spent over 14 years training and working in the U. K. After qualifying from Bangalore Medical College, she qualified with a D. C. H (Diploma in Child Health)at the Institute of Child Health, Madras and obtained a CCT (certificate of completion of training) in pediatrics, lead for pediatric neurology and epilepsy services at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn and Norfolk community Health and Care for 5 years and 11 months before relocating to Bangalore. During this time, she was honorary visiting specialist in pediatric neurology at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. She conducted clinics at Churchill Park School, Kings Lynn which is a school for children with special education needs and disabilities. She has also conducted Neuro Development clinics which included children with ADHD, behaviourial problems, autistic spectrum disorder, neuro developmental problems and physical disability. She has played a vital role in developing the Melatonin shared care protocol for the use of melatonin in children with neuro developmental problems. This was approved by the Norfolk, Great Yarmouth & Waveney Therapeutic Advisory Group (TAG) and is currently in use there. She is very passionate about teaching and is currently British Pediatric Neurology Association pediatric epilepsy training (PET1) instructor. She was “University of Cambridge Senior Clinical Tutor” and hence lead for the placement of Cambridge Medical students in pediatrics. She has also been elected to the Fellowship of Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and has been appointed as MRCPCH examiner.
Dr. Puja, Pediatric Neurologist with extensive experience in evaluating, diagnosing & treating various pediatric neurological disorder from newborn to 16 years of age. She did her Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at Jaslok Hospital Mumbai. Dr. Puja is an HMC (Haryana Medical Council) registered Medical Practioner. Dr. Jatinder Singh Goraya, MD, FRCPC (Neurology) is a graduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD - Pediatrics) from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, and currently is working as Assistant Professor in Pediatric Neurology. After finishing his MD in Pediatrics in 1993, he joined PGIMER Chandigarh as a senior resident in Pediatrics. Later he worked up to the level of Associate Professor of Paediatrics in Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh. He was instrumental in starting Child Neurology Services at GMCH. In June 2005, he went to USA for Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at the prestigious St Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Philadelphia. He joined DMCH in February 2010 and started the first Pediatric Neurology Unit in the state of Punjab. Dr Goraya was awarded a Research Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology by Indian Journal of Pediatrics in 2000, a Visiting Fellowship by Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) London, UK in 2002. He has published several papers in various national and international journals of repute and his work has been cited by others. He has also co-authored chapters to books. In May 2011, he passed the certifying examination in Pediatric Neurology conducted by the Royal College of Physicians of Canada earning him the prestigious FRCP (Neurology) designation. In his current capacity as consultant pediatric neurologist, Dr Goraya provides out-patient, in-patient, and emergency as well as intensive care services to children and adolescents with various neurological disorders. He is involved in the interpretation and performance of various neurophysiological studies such as routine EEG, Ambulatory EEG, Video-EEG, Nerve conduction and electromyograpahic (NCV/EMG) studies, Visual evoked potentials (VER) and brainstem evoked responses to auditory stimuli (BERA). He is also expert in management of refractory epilepsy including pre-surgical evaluation and treatment with Ketogenic Diet.

Dr. Rajeshwari Ganesh, Consultant Developmental Pediatrician in Mumbai. Dr. Rajeshwari Ganesh is a trained developmental behavioral pediatrician with more than a decade of experiencein the field of developmental pediatrics. She currently supervises the neuro- developmental follow up program at Surya Hospitals. She also is the Director of intervention services at Surya Child development center Mumbai. She was a fellow in the National University Hospital Singapore in the developmental Pediatrics Unit with her other training experiences include Observrship at hipster hospital Boston affiliated to Havard medical school and port royale hospital Pais Dr. Rajeshwari is clinically certified to administer the ADOS [Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule]. She also administers a wide range of developmental assessment tools which help delineate a child’s neuro-development profile. With the help of these objective assessment tools, she formulates suitable intervention goals for children. Her present research interests include communication challenges in preterm infants and suitable intervention programs for children with autism and other developmental conditions.

Dr. Padma Palvai finished her MBBS from Kurnool medical college. Later she moved to the United States of America and did her residency in psychiatry from St. Lukes- Roosevelt hospital center (Columbia University) in New York. She then did a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island (USA). She is board certified (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) in the speciality of Psychiatry as well as the speciality of child and adolescent psychiatry. She had practiced in the United States for many years. She also served as the Medical Director of the department of psychiatry of Hunterdon Medical Center in New Jersy, USA. She has returned to India 6 years back. Specialists in child and adolescent psychiatry are very rarely available in India. Dr. Padma Palvai has trained in two of the world’s premier institutes and has experience in treating children, teenagers as well as adults. Parents Perspective
Mr. Shishir Kant Misra, an Engineer from IIT Kharagpur, had a successful career in industry followed by a foray in business, when he learnt that his granddaughter Roshnee had Autism. The family, till then, unaware about Autism quickly learnt about it, decided to catch bull of Autism by its horns and set about resetting priorities. The business was disposed of, they and Roshnee's parents till then living separately moved to live together so that 24X7 care/intervention could be provided to Roshnee and while Roshnee's parents will pursue their career, to provide for heavily needed resources in the future for Roshnee's welfare, Mr. and Mrs. Misra will take care of Roshnee, till their health permits. They vowed to make Roshnee independent as much as possible in as many sphere as possible keeping academics on the back burner. Mr. and Mrs. Misra got in touch with Dr. Smita Awasthi, learnt about basics of handling child with Autism, and dedicated themselves to the cause. In the initial years Dr. Smita Awasthi was Roshnee's consultant till a BMI Centre was established in Kolkata. Roshnee, now 17, still goes to that Centre. Mr. Misra attended most of the Autism related workshops held in Kolkata, joined many Autism related groups and interacted with parents having a child with Autism, to learn about Autism and applied the knowledge to good effect to improve quality of life of Roshnee. He shared his experience and attended couple of ABA Annuals where he presented parents perspectives, shared Roshnee's progress over the years with other parents showing videos. He continues to interact, learn and share his experiences with other parents through various Face Book groups related to Autism.
Meena is a tech leader, hands-on architect and is very passionate about bringing technology to the non-tech sector. Making digital easy is the mantra she lives by and wants business to use mobility and technology at ease. With her technology expertise, she has built an app for special kids to use called "Brightly". She also runs a CSR organisation which helps corporates with their CSR needs. Being a mom of a special kid, she understands and focuses on increasing Autism awareness in the Corporate world as well. Ethics and quality are of high standard and value, which has been deep seeded in the company she has built both Purple front as well as Mentiss. A bundle of energy that she is, is a caring mother of 2 kids. Loves travelling with her family and take vacations as it is a great way to learn. Has Masters in Computer Application and has finished her Executive MBA from IIM, Bangalore.
Dr. Sudha S. M.D is a Gynaecologist by Profession and a Parent of kid in autism spectrum. In the past 11 years, have undergone various practical training in intervention of autism. Always been an active member in the parents group. Have conducted basic training programs for parents. Along with group of parents, have organised autism awareness events in Bangalore. Have trained 500 health professionals in early identification of autism in Chennai and Bangalore. Founder trustee - WIZTARA for autism.




Luminaries at Conference
Roshnee, a beautiful 17 years old girl has Autism. She is very compliant. She cannot talk like you and us. But she sings beautifully Hindi, English and Bengali songs. She has given many stage performances. On the stage and with mike in her hand she is a girl full of confidence and grace. Roshnee enjoys house hold work. She enjoys kitchen work too. Cutting vegetables and fruits, making tea, coffee, kneading flour and making Rotis give her immense pleasure. She is independent in her personal hygiene which being a woman requires some additional skill. She enjoys going to Malls, restaurants, movies and shows. She is an outgoing type and is a very pleasant company. She can work on computer, creating, saving and opening files, sending e mails with attachment, data entry work, listening songs stored in computer. She can handle her smart phone well, reading, sending emails or whatsApp messages with prompts. If at the start of the day she is given broad outlines of her expected schedule for the day she is very comfortable and happy and she accepts any changes which may be necessary due to circumstances.

Manoj Sharma is a technocrat and a graduate in Metallurgy Engineering. He has 34 years of experience in the field of Engineering, Marketing and International Trade. Having worked with National & International clients, he started his own small scale manufacturing enterprise in 1991. Manoj has wide knowledge of International trade and marketing and works in close partnerships with firms in Switzerland and Canada. Sridhar, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, after completing course requirement from Ball State University, IN, United States. He works extensively in understanding challenging Behavior and helping parents implement behavior management. An Alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, in his prior experience of 20 years, He has been head of Business Development and Operations with several leading corporations such as Pepsico, British Petroleum and Tech Mahindra.
